A simple and efficient POS system to manage products, discounts, taxes, and receipts with real-time editing capabilities.

EasyPOS is a lightweight point of sale (POS) application built with Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS. It allows users to add products, apply discounts and taxes, edit product details directly in the cart or receipt, and print receipts efficiently. Designed as a learning and productivity project, it emphasizes real-time editing, client-side rendering, and a responsive design.

Features

Add products with name, price, and quantity.
Edit product names and quantities directly in the cart or receipt.
Apply discounts (%) and custom tax rates.
Generate and print receipts with editable company name and tax.

Challenges

Handling hydration errors in SSR with dynamic data like Date.now().
Implementing editable receipt fields for company name, product name, quantity, and tax.
Maintaining real-time calculation of subtotal, discount, tax, and total.
Ensuring responsive design with a clean and intuitive UI.

Learnings

Gained hands-on experience with Next.js and React for building a POS system.
Learned to manage dynamic cart state and real-time calculations efficiently.
Practiced fixing SSR hydration issues and client-only effects in React.
